Installation—Mathew Gallery, New York NY

 1/1    Installation, Mathew Gallery

A webcam looks (and listens) out onto the front of 49 Canal St in Chinatown NYC. The live feed is connected to a flatscreen monitor positioned inside the same building (Mathew Gallery). When entering the building, sound from the webcam’s built-in microphone can be heard before any video can be seen. Additionally, movement from cars on the street triggers the removal of synthetic sounds from the gallery space that emerge slowly when the street is less heavily trafficked.
